Target group:  The scholarship method is release to applicants from Africa, Latin America, North/Central America, South Asia, Southeast Asia as well as from countries in the Middle East. See list of eligible countries.
Scholarship value/inclusions: DAAD scholarship owners are exempt from tuition fees. DAAD pays a monthly scholarship rate of currently €750. The scholarship also includes contributions to health insurance in Germany.
In addition, DAAD allowances an appropriate travel allowance and a study and research subsidy as well as rent subsidies and/or allowances for spouses and/or children where applicable.
Eligibility: The scholarship targets very well qualified graduates with a first university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) who in the future desire to actively donate to the social and economic development of their home countries. The scholarships are presented both for young graduates without professional experience and for mid-career professionals.
The main DAAD criteria for selection are: the study results, knowledge of English (and German), political and social engagement, a convincing description of the subject-related and personal inspiration for the study project in Germany and the projected benefit after the return to the home country.
The university degree should have been obtained during the 6 years before the application for the scholarship. Candidates cannot be measured if they have been in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application.
Every Master courses have further additional necessities that must be fulfilled by the candidates at any case.
Application instructions: Please submit your applications for the preferred Master courses and for the DAAD scholarship to the particular universities only (not to DAAD). Please fill in the DAAD application form by indicating your preferred priority of study courses. The application period at all eight universities is from 1 June – 31 August 2016.

• His/her academic degrees should normally not be more than 6 years old.

• For courses in German: DSH 2 or TestDaF 4; at time of application German talents at completed level A2 are required. In addition, German language courses at level A2 or B1 are highly recommended.
• For courses in English: IELTS (Band 6) certifi cate or TOEFL (minimum score: 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based)
Application instructions: Applications must be made directly to the particular course except for Cameroon where applications must be submitted via the German Embassy. Please refer to the respective course websites for the application method, the application closing date, and the documents to be submitted. Closing date varies depending on the course but falls around August-October 2016.
