Scholarship value/inclusions: DAAD scholarship owners are exempt from tuition fees. DAAD pays a monthly scholarship rate of currently €750. The scholarship also includes contributions to health insurance in Germany.
In addition, DAAD allowances an appropriate travel allowance and a study and research subsidy as well as rent subsidies and/or allowances for spouses and/or children where applicable.
Eligibility: The scholarship targets very well qualified graduates with a first university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) who in the future desire to actively donate to the social and economic development of their home countries. The scholarships are presented both for young graduates without professional experience and for mid-career professionals.
The main DAAD criteria for selection are: the study results, knowledge of English (and German), political and social engagement, a convincing description of the subject-related and personal inspiration for the study project in Germany and the projected benefit after the return to the home country.
The university degree should have been obtained during the 6 years before the application for the scholarship. Candidates cannot be measured if they have been in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application.
Every Master courses have further additional necessities that must be fulfilled by the candidates at any case.

Brief description: The KAAD scholarships are addressed to post-graduates and to academics who already gained professional experience and who are attracted in postgraduate studies (or research stays) in Germany.

Eligibility: For the scholarship programme 1 of KAAD you can submit an application if you:
• come from a developing or rising country in Africa, Asia, the Middle East or Latin America
• have a university degree and professional skills from your home country
• want to acquire a master’s degree or a PhD at a German university or do a post-doctoral research project (2-6 months for reputable university lecturers) at a German university
• are a Catholic Christian (or general belong to a Christian denomination). Applicants from other religions can submit an application if they are planned by Catholic colleagues and can verify their commitment to interreligious dialogue.
• possess German language skills before opening the studies (KAAD can offer a language course of max. 6 months in Germany).
The common regulation is that candidates for Master-scholarships should be of the maximum age of 30, while candidates for PhD-scholarships should not be older than 35.

The top three World Scholars will accept a tuition waiver of up to $20,000. Those with a Grade Point regular of 80% or above will be appropriate for scholarships up to $2500. Subject to agreeable progress, the awards are acceptable for up to three years.
As a York World Scholarship applicant, you will also be robotically measured for the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies International Student Entrance Scholar. Qualified candidates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) between 90% and 94.9% will accept $2,000; candidates with a GPA of 95% or higher will receive $3000.
