Brief description: The Flinders Worldwide Postgraduate Research Scholarships (FWPRS) are particularly proposed to maintain worldwide students to assume a research higher degree at Flinders University.

Level/Field(s) of study: Full-time Research Masters or Research Doctorate Degree presented at Flinders University
Number of Awards: Up to Ten
Target group: Citizens of every overseas country except New Zealand
Scholarship value/inclusions/duration: The FIPRS gives the worldwide student tuition fees, a charitable living payment salaried at the rate of $26,288 (2016 rate), and an establishment stipend of up to $1,485 to assist with replacement expenses and airfares.
The scholarship is acceptable for up to 3 years for a Research Doctorate degree and up to 2 years for a Research Masters degree.
Eligibility: • Candidates must convince the University’s academic entry necessities for a Masters degree by research or Doctorate by research.
• Candidates are requisite to have successfully completed at least the comparable of an Australian First Class Hons degree (this is a 4 year degree with a major research scheme in the final year)

• Candidates must meet the English proficiency levels set by Flinders University for worldwide students at the time of application. Students for whom English is a foreign language will require to  supply confirmation of their English language aptitude.
• Candidates must not hold a comparable research higher degree qualification. Applications are only open to students commencing a research higher degree in Australia for the first time.
• Candidates must  not hold Australian citizenship, Australian permanent resident status or New Zealand citizenship.

Australian Government Scholarships

Brief description: The worldwide Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) program allows worldwide students to undertake a postgraduate research qualification in Australia and achieve experience with leading Australian researchers.
Host Institution(s): Participating Universities in Australia.

Level/Field of study: Masters by research degree or Doctorate Degree offered by participating Universities in Australia.
Number of Awards: Approximately 330 are granted yearly.
Target group: Worldwide students of all countries (except New Zealand).
Scholarship value/inclusions/duration: The scholarship covers tuition fees and health cover costs for scholarship holders, and health cover costs for their reliants. The scholarships are presented for a period of 2 years for a research masters degree or 3 years for a research doctorate degree. 
Eligibility: To be qualified to submit an application for an IPRS, the candidate must be an worldwide student (except New Zealand) and commencing full-time enrolment in a higher degree by research at a suitable university in Australia. The basic eligibility criteria for an IPRS are listed in section 3.10.1 of the Commonwealth Scholarships Guidelines (Research) 2012.

Application instructions: Applications for a scholarship need to be made directly to participating Universities. Students need to approach the scholarship office at their chosen university for direction about the process to submit an application for an IPRS and key closing date dates.  The closing date varies per university but is around April-October every year.
