Description: The NZIDRS, funded by the New Zealand Government and administered by Education New Zealand, propose scholarships for worldwide students to undertake PhD study at a New Zealand university.

Host Organization(s): New Zealand Universities: University of Waikato, University of Auckland, AUT University, Lincoln University, Massey University, University of Canterbury, University of Otago, Victoria University of Wellington.

Field(s) of study: PhD Degree Programme in every discipline proposed by participating Universities in New Zealand.

Number of Scholarships: Not specific.

Target group: Worldwide students who are not citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand or Australia.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration: The NZIDRS covers the following for a TOTAL of 3 years: university schooling fee and linked student levies, an annual living pay of NZ$25,000 (tax-free), and medical insurance coverage up to NZ$600 yearly.

Eligibility: You must convene ALL 5 eligibility criteria. These criteria are non-negotiable.

1.                  You must have a established, non-conditional offer of place for a (direct-start) PhD programme at a New Zealand university

2.                  If you have commenced your PhD studies in New Zealand, your start date must be after 1 July 2015

3.                  You must hold at least grade equivalent to a GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale OR an A to A+ average in your most recent or maximum post graduate tertiary qualification

4.                  You must carry out your PhD study inNew Zealand (not from a distance)

5.                  You must not hold citizenship or PR status in New Zealand or Australia.

Application instructions: For submit an application for the NZIDRS, you must have already expected a non-conditional propose of place for PhD study at a New Zealand university.  You must download and fill up the NZIDRS 2016 application form and submit it together with the compulsory documents to Education New Zealand before 15 July 2016.

ESSENTIAL NOTE: Submit an application for the NZIDRS ONLY if you convene ALL eligibility criteria, if you can supply ALL compulsory documents by the closing date, or  if your offered research obviously aligns with the choice criteria.
