Brief description: The Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), awards various postgraduate scholarships to foreign scholars and researchers:  University scholarships (Swiss universities, Federal Institutes of Technology as well as Universities of Applied Sciences) and Arts scholarships (schools of music and fine arts, only for a limited number of countries).
These scholarships offers graduates from every fields with the opportunity to pursue doctoral or postdoctoral research in Switzerland at one of the public funded university or recognized institution.

Host Institution(s): Any of the ten (10) Swiss Public Universities, the two (2) Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology, the public teaching and research institutes and the Universities of applied sciences.
Level/Field of study: Doctoral or Postdoctoral research in every academic fields.
Target group: Worldwide students from more than 180 countries.  See the administrator website for complete list of suitable countries.
Scholarship inclusions: The scholarship covers a monthly payment, exemption of tuition fees, health insurance, air fare, housing allowance, etc. See the fact sheets for exact scholarship benefits.

Target group: All PhD scholarships are release to both Italian citizens and students from outside Italy. Every PhD course proposes scholarships preserved to students that graduated outside of Italy.
Scholarship value/inclusions: Every students admitted to the PhD program receive full financial support. This includes tuition, fees, and a cost-of living stipend (15,012 euro per year, plus free meals).  Every students will be assigned further funding for their research activity and travel.
Eligibility: Applications for admission are requestd from applicants who, irrespective of their citizenship, have an Italian laureamagistrale (MA/MS degree) or a comparable degree from outside Italy, or who expect to have obtained the degree required for admission by 31 October 2016 – failure to obtain the degree by this date will disqualify the applicant for admission.

Admission to the call is restricted to applicants who:
  • • were born after 31 October 1986;
  • • have no past criminal charges against them resulting in a prison term of more than three years;
  • • have not been subject to the disciplinary measure of “expulsion” as specified in the didactic and internal regulations of the SNS;
  • • are not in possession of a research doctorate issued by an Italian university, and in any case have never benefitted from a scholarship to concentrate a research doctorate course in Italy.

Brief description: Every year, Rotary selects up to 100 students from around the world to get fully funded academic fellowships to pursue a Certificate course or Masters Degree course related to peace and conflict declaration and prevention at one of the participating peace centers.

Scholarship value/inclusions: The scholarships cover tuition and fees, accommodation, round-trip transportation, and all placement and field-study expenses.

Eligibility: The Rotary Peace Scholarship is planned for professionals with work experience in worldwide relations or peace and conflict prevention and declaration. Candidates must also meet the following necessities:
• Skill in English; proficiency in a second language is strappingly suggested
• Strong assurance to worldwide understanding and peace as verified through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service.
• Outstanding leadership expertises.
• Master’s degree candidates: minimum 3 years of related full-time work or volunteer experience, bachelor’s degree.
• Certificate candidates: minimum 5 years of related full-time work or volunteer experience, sturdy academic conditions.
Application instructions: The closing date for applicants to submit applications to their respective Rotary district is 31 May. Districts must submit approved applications to The Rotary Foundation by 1 July.
