Applications are confident from applicants who hold at least a bachelor’s degree from any academic discipline and demonstrate 3 years of post-graduate professional experience. All candidates are required to take the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) before gaining admission to the ESMT Full-time MBA program.
After graduation, Fellows are projected to commit to returning to their home countries or regions to participate for at least 3 years in the development of the local or regional economy.

Brief description: The DRD proposes a limited number of DAAD merit scholarships for every year for candidates from Sub-Saharan African countries with an outstanding academic record, to pursue development-related Masters and PhD studies.

Target group: The scholarships are projected for nationals of Sub-saharan African countries.
Scholarship value/inclusions: Scholarships consist of monthly allowances of 650 Euro for Master applicants and 900 Euro for PhD applicants plus travel allowances. Mobility scholarships are also vacant for Master students every year.
Eligibility: Scholarship candidates are advised to carefully read about the specific entry necessities and course application method of the programme of their choice. The information is vacant from the respective programmes sections. In addition to programme requirements, all candidates have to meet the following requirements:
•  Candidates should be from Sub-Sahara Africa
•  Candidates should have an excellent academic record – at least 70% for your last degree

•  The previous degree (Baccalaureus or Master) should have been an academic discipline which is related to  Development Studies or Public Administration

• Candidates must supply evidence of proficiency in English, both written and spoken. This can be TOEFL test or a similar standard test or a letter from an academic institution

• Work and/or voluntary experience in your field of interest would be a recommendation

• Candidates must be capable to study fulltime at the UWC for the required period.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration: The scholarships consist of monthly payments of 750 euros for graduates or 1,000 euros for doctoral applicants; payments towards health, accident and personal liability insurance cover; and travel allowance, unless these operating cost are enclosed by the home country or another source of funding.
The scholarship duration is 12 to 24 months (depending on the particular institution)
Eligibility: • Works either for a public authority or a state or personal company in a developing country and, as such, is engaged in the planning and implementation of directives and projects with emphasis on development policies having a bearing on technological, economic or social areas.
• Holds a Bachelor’s degree (normally 4 years) in a related subject.
• Has completed an academic degree with far above average results (upper third) and at least 2 years of related professional experience.
• His/her academic degrees should normally not be more than 6 years old.

• For courses in German: DSH 2 or TestDaF 4; at time of application German talents at completed level A2 are required. In addition, German language courses at level A2 or B1 are highly recommended.
• For courses in English: IELTS (Band 6) certifi cate or TOEFL (minimum score: 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based)
