Brief description: Thanks to bighearted
funding from the Society of the Sacred Heart, three fully-funded, full-time PhD
studentships are presented for new abroad students, starting 1 October
2017. The studentships are for the support of 3 applicants with a strong
academic record and the probable for academic brilliance at doctoral level.
Preference
will be specified to applicants from lower or middle income countries.
Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to contributing to their
home community through their planned research project or area of study, and
through their future career plans.

Level/Field of study: PhD Programme where
the intended research project or area of study, may be, for example, related to
education, human rights, theology/philosophy, other topics applicable to
justice, community service, environmental development.
This
is only an investigative list; no disciplinary areas are excluded, and specific
projects and intentions will be assessed in relation to the broad criterion of
making a contribution to the student’s home community.

students but preference will be specified to applicants from lower or middle income countries
Scholarship value/inclusions/duration: The scholarship
covers the cost at abroad rates, stipend at Research Council UK rates,
currently £16,057 (tax-free), and contribution to research project costs.
The
scholarships are for three years, subject to annual assessments of
satisfactory progress.
