Brief
description: Thanks to charitable sponsorship from the Society of the
Sacred Heart, 3 fully-funded, full-time PhD studentships are presented for new
overseas students, starting 1 October 2017. The studentships are for the
support of 3 applicants with a strong academic record and the probable for
academic brilliance at doctoral level.
Preference will be specified to applicants
from lower or middle income countries. Successful applicants will demonstrate a
promises to contributing to their home community through their considered
research project or area of study, and through their future career plans.

of study: PhD Programme where the considered research project or
area of study, may be, for example, associated to education, human rights,
theology/philosophy, other topics appropriate to justice, community service,
environmental development.
This is only an investigative list;
no disciplinary areas are excluded, and specific projects and intentions will
be assessed in relation to the broad criterion of making a contribution to the
student’s home community.

group: Release to all worldwide students but first choice will
be specified to applicants from lower or middle income countries
Scholarship
value/inclusions/duration: The scholarship covers the fee at overseas rates, stipend
at Research Council UK rates, currently £16,057 (tax-free), and involvement to
research project expenses.
The scholarships are for three years,
subject to yearly assessments of satisfactory progress.
Eligibility: You must congregate
the standard requirements for PhD study at Roehampton. The criteria are:
• Academic brilliance – record to date
and potential
• Nationality and domicile (applicants must announce
all nationalities held; partiality will be prearranged to those who are exclusively
citizens of and domiciled in lower-middle income countries*)
• Promises to contributing to the
student’s home community
• Fit of expected project to the research
environment at Roehampton and presented supervisory expertise
Application
instructions: Prior to submitting a full application, applicants should
contact a potential academic supervisor at Roehampton to discuss their project thoughts.
Applications should be submitted by 5 December 2016.
