Brief description: The University of Sydney requests applicants who are suitable to undertake a Postgraduate Research Degree or Master’s by Research program at this University to submit an application for the University of Sydney Worldwide Research Scholarship (USydIS).  The objective of the USydIS is to attract top superiority worldwide postgraduate students to undertake research projects which will enhance the University’s research activities.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration: The USydIS will cover tuition fees and living allowance for up to 3 years with a opportunity of 1 semester’s extension for PhD students.
Eligibility: The USydIS is presented to students commencing in both the March (Research Period 2) and July (Research Period 3).  For information on Scholarship Assortment, please submit to the Supplementary information for research scholarship applicants.
Application instructions: No separate application for a USydIS Scholarship is necessary. Students must specify that they would like to be measured for the USydIS by completing the related section of the Postgraduate Research Application form.   To be considered for the award, completed applications MUST be received by the Admissions Office by:
  • – 31 July of the previous year for Research Period 2 (March) commencement
  • – 15 December of the previous year for Research Period 3 (July) commencement
