Brief description: The Worldwide Institute of Social Studies (ISS), part of Erasmus University Rotterdam and located in The Hague (The Netherlands), is recruiting outstanding students for 5 PhD fellowships in Development Studies within the ISS research programme Global Development and Social Justice.

Level/Field of study: In the 2016 round, four PhD fellowships are obtainable for research  interrelated to the following cross-cutting themes in the ISS research programme Global Development and Social Justice: Global Development and Social Justice; Migration; Environment and climate change; Social protection and inequality; and Conflict.
One PhD fellowship is presented for research on topics interrelated to the Centre for Frugal improvement in Africa.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration: PhD students will accept a fellowship of €1,630 per month, plus an additional allowance to cover the costs of their field work, which normally takes place during the second year into the PhD programme.
The PhD scholarships are for a maximum period of 4 years, starting 1 September 2016 or as soon thereafter as probable.
Eligibility: The PhD scholarship are presented only for citizens of countries that are not part of the European Economic Area. For all fellowships, candidates should submit the following:
a. Proof of having obtained an MA Degree in one of the Social Sciences or equivalent, comprising at least 4 years of study at an internationally recognised university or Institute for Higher Education, as evidence by certified copies of degrees and diplomas, and by copies of academic transcripts.
b. A research suggestion in one of the areas indicated above (4-6 pages).
c. Good command of English, both orally and in writing, as evidenced by holding a degree from an English-speaking university or by supplying the results of a aptitude test from a recognised authority (such as TOEFL, IELTS or British Council).
d. Names of at least three referees, who should be able to supply information about the candidate’s academic strengths.

What is it about: The Government of the People's Republic of China has positioned at the clearance of UNESCO for the academic year 2016-2017, under the co-sponsorship of UNESCO, seventy-five (75) scholarships for advanced studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These scholarships are for the advantage of developing Member States in Africa, Asia–Pacific, Latin America, Europe and North America and Arab province.

The scholarship, reasonable at a selected  number of Chinese universities, are for a duration of 1 year. These fellowships, are in most luggage to be conducted in English. In excellent cases, applicants may be requisite to study Chinese language before taking up research/study in their fields of interest.

Scholarship value/inclusions: DAAD scholarship owners are exempt from tuition fees. DAAD pays a monthly scholarship fee of presently €750. The scholarship also contains contributions to health insurance in Germany.
In addition, DAAD awards a proper travel allowance and a study and research subsidy as well as rent subsidies and/or allowances for spouses and/or children where appropriate.
Eligibility: The scholarship goals very well experienced graduates with a first university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) who in the future wish for to keenly donate to the social and economic development of their home countries. The scholarships are presented both for young graduates without professional experience and for mid-career professionals.
